Anxiety sucks

It’s not surprising that most of us feel some sort of anxiety with all the demands and stresses of modern day life. It’s bad enough when you’re feeling a bit anxious or nervous about talking in front of a group of people or when you’re waiting for blood test results but when anxiety begins to creep in on a daily basis it’s just not nice. Infact in can be down right scary and certainly not a fun place to be.

Anxiety in it’s mildest form can cause quick responses to immediate awkward or difficult situations however as anxiety increases over time it can become debilitating - it is no longer a nervous reaction and it can become more severe to the point of panic attacks which are sometimes mistaken for heart attacks. When you wake up in the morning and all your fears from yesterday hit you at once it can feel all consuming with an awful sense of dread. That voice in your head can jump from one thing to another sometimes dipping into past pain and disaster and then moving forward into all those “what if” moments. I have worked with many people who have been anxious and stressed. It may be because they have not been able to manage their daily life at work, or because of their various types of loss or in some cases due to illness including chronic illness such as ME/CFS or fibromyalgia. Counselling can help with anxiety - it can help you to explore what is going on for you, and help you get to the underlying problem as well as helping you to explore ways of coping and managing your every day life.

Most of us need a little help sometimes, whether it is from your family & friends, advice from the doctor or using a talking therapy - don’t struggle alone
